behold the artist

the painter says pose for me,
so she does –
silk skin, bare limbs
in a twist he’ll never
get right, and the canvas
stays white

the brush just kisses her.
wet paint runs,
licks the dip of her navel
and abstract art draws shivers
despite the summer heat,
the satin strewn
across the floor

behold the artist
and his brush
